Polygraphic test is basically is the such scientific
technique which is used by the police and agency during interrogation to verify
the recorded statement of the witness ,victim,
accused and suspected person ,which is recorded u/s 161 of CrPC .so,

in this Article we will discuss the procedure of Polygraphic test , and discuss how much this test is helpful to detect lie or truth ? and the Evidencry value of this test .
1. 1. Procedure of Polygraphic test.
That is the three stage process.
1. Attachment of sensors to body.
Firstly, 4 to 6 sensors attached to human body.

In that process 2 types of question asked
1. controlled Question –
These are normal Questions asked to person just to provide him comfort
zone and reduce his anxiety.

which are relevant to the matter of investigation.

you really the eye witness of such incident?

Here, the examiner
examines the rate of 4 things.

2. 2.Respiration
3. 3. Heart beat
4. 4. Pasteurization /skin conductivity
In order to detect lie.

If during monetization the examiner notice that rate
of B.P and heart beat or the other two are not normal so they assume that the
person is telling a lie.
3.Evidencry Value of Polygraphic test.

Polygraphic test is not consider stronger
evidence because of certain reasons.
1. Due to Drawbacks of Polygraphic test.
Nothing is ideal, same is follow Polygraphic test its also has some drawbacks.
1. Chance of cheating.
In Polygraphic test there are the chances of cheating like if someone is
habitual offender he know how to control his emotion? So there are the chances
of falseness.
2. Has the element of nervousness.

Moreover, the anxiety and nervousness of person
may also adverse the result.
2. Not voluntary confession.
Basically the confession which are obtained by the Polygraphic test are
not consider the voluntary one so they are not consider admissible as like the
confession u/s 161 of CrPC

Grounds
to consider it non-voluntary confession.
It is consider that the confession obtained by Polygraphic test is
basically the violation of the Art 13 of the constitution of Pakistan on the
grounds of ‘’self-incrimination ‘’so that’s why consider to be non-voluntary one.

So, no
conviction is granted on Polygraphic test.
